Our life in Prosper

Ah, as I type this message I'm enjoying the beautiful peace and quiet of naptime. Would you believe Caroline is still napping at almost 4 1/2? I don't think she would ever admit it, but I know she really likes her naptime. She doesn't "need" a nap anymore b/c she does survive okay at her preschool without one, BUT it does give me a much needed break and her a little time to rest, seeing as though she goes 100mph. William is now on one nap a day so I try my best to have them sleeping a the same time.

We are starting to feel a bit more settled. I guess we have been here now for 4 months. We really, really love Prosper. I don't think it will ever take the place of our beloved Austin, but it is unique and beautiful in it's own way. It has such an awesome small town feel that we really love! Caroline has 2 activities that she is in for this year-ballet/tap and Awana. Today was her first day at dance in her "new" class that is at an earlier time slot. To be honest, a big part of why I have her in dance is b/c it gives her an outlet for an hour as well as a chance for me to build relationships with other young moms in the same stage of life. I really never thought that cliques existed even among mature adults, but oh they do. I couldn't take it anymore and I switched her class and I love the new mommies I'm getting to chat with and Caroline's sweet friend, Audrey, (who switched out of the old class too!) is in there. Caroline's first words when she came out of her new dance class today was, "mommy, I love my new class and my teacher is so pretty!" I said "no doubt honey, she's a real cheerleader that cheers for daddys favorite team."

This is her first year as an Awana "cubbie." If you haven't heard of Awana (Approved workmen are not ashamed 2 Tim 2:15) it's an international organization that is at a local church that seeks to develop spiritually strong children. The program actually begins as early as 3 years old. Teaching our children in the home should be the primary place for spiritual training. She has a notebook that we work through for the entire year and each week she has to memorize a new verse. She is given awana bucks if she knows her verse, brings her Bible to awana, goes to a Bible study class, etc. I must confess that every week I want to just stay home with her and be lazy, but I have people encouraging me to keep pressing on(you know who you are). There's nothing more important than having God's Word on her little heart.

Have you turned on your heater yet? I caved and had to do it yesterday! I feel so cozy in my new house with a candle lit and the heater going. Would you believe Thanksgiving is less than a month away?! That's crazy!
Stay tuned for Halloween pics...
