Ethiopian-American Christmas celebration

We got invited to our first Dallas area Ethiopian group party (thanks Crevelings!). We didn't know but one couple going into it, but I'm really glad we stepped out of our comfort zone and went. I met a girl named, Laura, who is around the same stage in the adoption journey as us. They are using the same adoption agency as us and they also have a 4 yr old little girl! They just moved here in June as well. We got to experience Ethiopian food...injera, lentils, shiro, etc..

I loved talking with this woman! This is the grandmother of this little girl named, "Glory." She actually traveled over to Ethiopia with her daughter and son in law to pick up their 2 children. I loved hearing her experience in Ethiopia. She advised me that I wouldn't be able to find a McDonalds anywhere...bummer! I don't even like McDonalds, but I'm afraid after spending 7 days eating Ethiopian food I might be craving a big mac.

Here's a pic of our friends Brian, Kat, and their cute little girl Allie. They are much farther along in their adoption journey than us. They are probably on the wait list by now!
