Well, after being in Austin for a couple of months, Sydney finally made a friend. In the new house, Lauren has relegated Sydney to her new life as an outside dog. Surprisingly, she took the record breaking summer heat very well, but now we have a new challenge.
Sydney + Pepe Le Pew = 2 consecutive 2AM wake up calls and a smelly dog. The first was when Lauren woke up to the smell INSIDE the house, which we thought was some type of electrical short. It seems that the smell just came thru the windows and eaves of the house (CRAZY)! The second night, we heard Sydney running back and forth by our window, and another wave of stink ensued. After 2 sleepless nights because of Pepe's new love, I think it is time for a trip to Academy to check out the new line of pellet rifles.
Caroline's response was priceless. Yesterday, I asked her to go smell Sydney's head. As soon as she took a a good whiff, she immediately grabbed her nose and sprinted inside with a theatrical response that would make any drama teacher proud. This morning when I told her that Sydney got sprayed again, she slapped her palm to her forehead, rolled her eyes, and said, "Oh NO!"
Keep your fingers crossed that I don't get kicked out of Petsmart today for her emergency grooming appointment. It will be interesting to see their response when we walk in the store. If that doesn't work, I may have to take her to one of those self-service wand car wash places.
I can only imagine Lauren's reaction when she reads my inaugural post. I'm sure she expects more from her DH (is that what I'm called?), but you know us guys. If it's not football, food, and foul odors, we just aren't that interesting. I'll try to be more profound in my next post, sweetie.
