Great video on Piper, racism, and racial harmony

A friend of ours sent us this video and he said "I hope it will bless you both and your decision to adopt."

John Piper is probably my all time favorite spiritual mentor, teacher, and author. When I hear him speak I can't help but move away every distraction possible, b/c I just want his words to soak into me.

This is a video about his personal experience of growing up in the segregated south. It is a story about how the gospel has cleansed him and that there is beauty in racial diversity and harmony in Christ. He talks about the deep inconsistencies of growing up in a Christian home and the dysfunctional relationships his family had with black people.

It has been almost one year now since we applied to the Ethiopia program and we've never looked back or doubted our decision. It has been painful at times and I think we've questioned somewhat if we are "strong" enough to withstand comments and judgements, but in the end we know this brings glory to His name and we know this will be a blessing to our family.

I hope this video BLESSES you as it has us and it moves you to see that we were all created in the image of God. We are all related and in the same family!!
