spring break and other fun things

Last year we could have cared less about spring break, but now that one kiddo is in school I can see now how fun it can and will be. Caroline jetted off to the Grand Canyon last week! Her Nana and Pops, Keith's parents, took her there along with a few days in Phoenix to see some bull riding. She was gone for SIX nights. This was the longest we have ever been apart and I think I did much much worse than she did. I can tell she had a blast. Caroline is one of those kids that is very resilient and very fun-loving...wants to be best friends with everyone. I love this about her!

William and I held down the fort all week while Caroline was gone and Keith was traveling. It was a super fun time...considering I threw out my back! There's really no way around making it better except waiting it out and that's what I did...for about 5 days. I have to say though that I LOVE my time with just ONE kid at home. I feel really blessed in that our kids don't really fight that much, but they are always wrestling, running, or just flat out being too loud. Oh my, what am I going to do this summer???

We are COUNTING DOWN THE DAYS until school ends and we wrap up kindergarten. We only have a handful of homeschool days left and we will officially have a FIRST grader on May 10th! Sir William is going to be starting at a school here that is specific to speech and language. He's going to go for a few months, do a summer camp, and then we will re-evaluate our plans for the next school year for him. Have I mentioned how INCREDIBLE he is doing in therapy??? We give lots of credit to God's goodness and the wonderful SLP we have that is pretty much apart of our family, Meredith...AKA "Mer-Mer." When we started last October all he did was grunt and now he has 3, 4, and even 5 words he is putting together. He needs help with articulation, but I have no doubt he will get caught up.

Here are a few fun picks. Caroline had to bring a dyed and decorated egg to school today so of course I am "that mom" that waited until the morning of.

Do I need to say anything? The t-shirts really aren't helping...
